Account Management System
From The Simming League
Utilized by sim groups to manage games and members through an interactive web interface, built upon web portal technologies and forum software interaction. AMS softwares allow people to log in, customize their own web simming experience, join and leave games, participate in the community, read newsletters, view files and other information.
Account Management Systems have revolutionized simming and enabled the few clubs that use them to manage hundreds of members and reach unprecedented heights.
The Federation Sim Fleet launched the first AMS software for sim groups, with several other similar web applications being launched by other groups at the same time. The Starfleet Legacy Alliance created the Host Administration System (HAS) that allowed hosts to manage new player applications and game assignments. The system is currently being redesigned and relaunched by the SLA web team. Seth Cotis originally created the HAS.
Obsidian Fleet developed a public liscensed version of their Integrated Fleet System a year later. Their software is aimed toward email based role playing games. Several groups have utilized the IFS system to manage their gaming groups to great success, but more typically use it to manage subfleets of groups. This leads to much duplication of data and unreliable membership figures.
